LuLu's Yarn Art

I have a new pattern to share this week, only this time it is one of my own. I had trouble finding a crown pattern that I liked when I wanted to make one for the daughter of a friend of mine. Materials:
Size H Crochet Hook
Size G Crochet Hook
Tapestry Needle
Lion Brand® 24/7 Cotton® Yarn
Stitches:
CH: Chain Stitch
SC: U.S. Single Crochet
SL ST: Slip Stitch
PIC (Picot): Chain 3, slipstitch into first chain of chain 3

SC PIC (Single crochet picot): Single crochet, chain 3, slipstitch through front loop and the left bar of the post of the single crochet

Gauge:

Ch 6 with size H hook, switch to size G hook, SC in the back loop of each CH.
CH 1, pull it tight, SC across.
CH 1, pull it tight, SC across.
3 Rows of 6 SC measures 5/8” high by 1 ¼“ wide.

Newborn:
Round 1: Using size H hook, CH 60, switch to size G hook, SC in the back loop of each CH across. Make sure your piece does not twist and SLST to first SC to complete the round. (60 SC)
Rounds 2-3: CH 1, pull it taut (you should barely see a stitch), SC around and SLST to first SC. (60 SC)
Round 4: CH 1, pull it taut, *SC in first stitch, CH 7, skip next 4 stitches, SC. Repeat from * 9 additional times. SLST to first SC to join. (20 SC, 10 CH-7)
Round 5: CH 1, pull it taut, *SC in first SC below, SC 7 in CH-7 space below, SC in SC below. Repeat from * 9 additional times. SLST to first SC to join. (90 SC)
Round 6: Skip first stitch, SLST in first 3 SC below, (SLST, PIC, SC PIC, SLST, PIC, SLST, all in next SC), SLST in next 4 SC *SLST in next 4 SC below, (SLST, PIC, SC PIC, SLST, PIC, SLST, all in next SC), SLST in next 4 SC. Repeat from * 8 additional times. Finish off using invisible finish. Use tapestry needle to secure tail at the beginning. Weave in ends. Block if desired.

Three Months:
Round 1: Using size H hook, CH 66, switch to size G hook, SC in the back loop of each CH across. Make sure your piece does not twist and SLST to first SC to complete the round. (66 SC)
Rounds 2-3: CH 1, pull it taut (you should barely see a stitch), SC around and SLST to first SC. (66 SC)
Round 4: CH 1, pull it taut, *SC in first stitch, CH 7, skip next 4 stitches, SC. Repeat from * 10 additional times. SLST to first SC to join. (22 SC, 11 CH-7)
Round 5: CH 1, pull it taut, *SC in first SC below, SC 7 in CH-7 space below, SC in SC below. Repeat from * 10 additional times. SLST to first SC to join. (99 SC)
Round 6: Skip first stitch, SLST in first 3 SC below, (SLST, PIC, SC PIC, SLST, PIC, SLST, all in next SC), SLST in next 4 SC, *SLST in first 4 SC below, (SLST, PIC, SC PIC, SLST, PIC, SLST, all in next SC), SLST in next 4 SC. Round 4: CH 1, pull it taut, *SC in first stitch, CH 7, skip next 4 stitches, SC. Repeat from * 11 additional times. SLST to first SC to join. (24 SC, 12 CH-7)
Round 5: CH 1, pull it taut, *SC in first SC below, SC 7 in CH-7 space below, SC in SC below. Repeat from * 11 additional times. SLST to first SC to join. (108 SC)
Round 6: Skip first stitch, SLST in first 3 SC below, (SLST, PIC, SC PIC, SLST, PIC, SLST, all in next SC), SLST in next 4 SC, *SLST in first 4 SC below, (SLST, PIC, SC PIC, SLST, PIC, SLST, all in next SC), SLST in next 4 SC.
